Fortune Spin is a classroom vocabulary game made by Yael Neeman-Schubert. We keep as little as possible: only what teachers need to sign in and keep their word sets.
Students
Students never need an account, and we never store anything about them. Player names, scores and games stay in the browser on the computer they play on, in class or at home, and are never sent to us. That includes student links and the Game of the week. When one of those games is started, we add one to that game’s play count. We never record who played or how they did.
What we keep about teachers
- Your email address and, if you give it, your name. Your name is shown on word sets you share.
- Your password, stored only in a scrambled form (a hash) that cannot be turned back into the password. If you sign in with Google, we keep Google's account number for you instead, and your email address. We never see your Google password.
- The word sets you save, and a copy of each game you share as a student link (its words and Surprise questions).
- A sign-in cookie, so the site remembers you are signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
- If you ask to join, your name, email and where and what you teach, so the admin can answer.
Emails
We email you only for your account: an invitation, a password reset you asked for, or an answer to your request to join. No newsletters, no marketing.
Who else handles it
We do not sell or share your information. These services run the site for us:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Neon stores the database.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Google handles “Continue with Google” sign-in, if you choose it.
Deleting your account
Email us and we will delete your account and every word set saved to it. Links you sent to others for those sets stop working.
